We love a challenge and like nothing more than when our customers come up with new ideas. We can make a replica of a cake you have seen before, or we can make you something from your imagination – the possibilities are limited only by your ideas (and physics!)

Established in 2004 by Lynda Rogers, Cheshire Cakes grew from a purpose-built workshop in Lynda’s back garden, to a small shop in Orford, and then to its current home in Latchford Village in 2009.
When we moved to Latchford Village, we added a coffee shop so that the lovely residents of Warrington could sample our cakes and cupcakes alongside a warming cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
New for 2016, we have revamped the coffee shop and website, and have expanded the cake decorating team so that we can be a part of more of your celebrations.
Update for 2017, We have closed our shop in Latchford and we are currently deciding about the future of the business.
How long will my cake last?
We advise that your cake will last for 5 days from collection (sponge cakes), but correct storage will extend this further.
The best way to store a sponge cake is in a cool room away from direct sunlight - there is no need to refrigerate your cake. Once you have cut into it, wrap a little cling film over the cut edge to keep it moist and yummy.
What flavours do you offer?
We can cater to any flavour you would like as the cakes are made specifically for your order. Our most popular flavours are:
Vanilla A light and moist sponge, made to a genoese recipe (the same base as for Jaffa Cakes!)
Lemon We start with our vanilla base and add freshly squeezed lemon juice. A very light alternative to vanilla.
Raspberry We start with our vanilla base and add raspberry puree. A very girly pink sponge!
Chocolate A very chocolately and moist cake. A Chocoholics dream!
Chocolate Orange Our moreish chocolate recipe with added freshly squeezed orange juice.
Red Velvet A sumptuous mixture of vanilla, chocolate and raspberry - the perfect indulgence.
Carrot A moist and full flavoured carrot cake with lots of cinnamon and fresh carrots.
Why must I pay a deposit?
We cannot secure your order without a deposit as we have to ensure that we have enough time to bake your cake and have enough skilled cake decorators to complete your order. If you have not paid a deposit, we cannot reserve your slot as we get many enquiries daily and we fill our order book quickly.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, bank transfer and paypal online.
How much notice do you need?
We ask for a minimum of one weeks notice for celebration cakes and 4 weeks for wedding cakes, however at peak times we may not be able to fulfill complex orders with short notice, so we advise that you book early for your own peace of mind. If you have left it last minute, we will endeavour to offer you a compromise, subject to workload, so it's always worth giving us a call!

Are your cakes suitable for vegetarians?
All of our cakes are suitable for ovo-lacto vegetarians without any modification. They do contain eggs however, so are not suitable for lacto-vegetarians. We can cater for an eggless recipe though - please ask at the point of order. If ordering online, please state this in the comments box when you are choosing your cake.
Are your cakes suitable for vegans?
Our standard range is not suitable for vegans as they contain eggs, but we can bake to an eggless recipe so please ask at the point of order. If ordering online, please state this in the comments box when you are choosing your cake.
Are your cakes suitable for Coeliacs (i.e. Gluten-free)?
We can make your cake to a gluten-free recipe - please ask at the point of order. If ordering online, please state this in the comments box when you are choosing your cake.
